Chemical Industry, Chemical Engineering, and Chemical Technology are collectively referred to as “Chemical Engineering” (or “Chemical Industry”). The chemical industry encompasses petrochemicals, agricultural chemicals, pharmaceutical chemistry, polymers, coatings, oils and fats, among others. These fields emerged at different historical periods, each carrying distinct meanings; yet they are closely interrelated, mutually permeating, and exhibit continuity. Moreover, they have been endowed with evolving connotations throughout their development.
