Rheological Additive(Bentonite)
Bentonite is a high-purity, hydrophilic modified montmorillonite. It is an off-white, non-toxic, soft powder composed mainly of SiO₂ and Al₂O₃. In water, it offers excellent thickening, suspension, and thixotropic properties. It is widely used as a suspending agent and thixotrope in water-based coatings, latex paints, and cosmetics. In coatings, its lamellar structure forms a "card-house" network that prevents settling, controls sagging, and improves storage stability.
